February 20, 2009 - We've been entered into two tournaments
We are playing in the same two tournaments as last year - The State Championships (which we are running, at South Burlington HS on May 23rd) and the St. Johnsbury Invitational (May 16/17). All players will need to be up-to-date on their UPA membership status. See McKinnon with questions. More information coming later.
February 20, 2009 - The season begins.
The 'Spring Training' season has begun. Captains and leaders from last years teams are running practices in the morning before school starts - 7:15-8:15. Nice and early to get you ready for your daily lessons. We're suing this this time to get the rust off of throws and start establishing some offense and defense.
April 25th, 2008 - Our First Ever Game.Game against a hybrid St. Johnsbury JV/Varsity team. They brought amazing spirit and a teaching approach that helped us further prepare for our first tournament: the Vermont State Championships. St. J wins 15-6.
May 6th, 2008 - Away vs.CVU.Going to the beautiful CVU campus and playing them allowed us to participate in a relaxed, fun game. We played a barefoot, huck-happy game. We win 15-12.
May 11th - State Championships (2008) Pool Play
- Game One vs St. J Varsity - We lucked out getting St. J varsity early in the morning; they weren't quite awake yet, alowing us to throw long over their heads to go up 4-2. However, they then woke up, established excellent flow and and took the game 15-5.
- Game Two vs Vermont Commons JV - We took our long game to VC-JV and took the game 15-1. They have some INTENSE women players! Great Spirit and musicality at the end.
- Game Three vs Compass - Jake (for Compass) used his excellent handling skills and athleticism to help Compass beat us 15-5.
- Game Four vs St J JV - Into the crossover 5/8 pool. We played a fun filled, spirit laden game (they were the eventual Spirit winners) to win 15-4. We then played an "Overtime" point of Pterodactyl/Tyrannosaur. Good fun all around.
- Game Five vs SBHS - Game for fifth place. Both teams were tired and wanted to watch the finals, so we played a quick game to 5. We won, 5-3; though the game was not a quick one due to tired throws.
Overall, it was a phenomenal experience. We took fifth and had a great time.
